Chief Clinical Simulation Officer
I am honored to be considered for an At-Large Board position and grateful for the opportunity to serve a community that has profoundly shaped my career. My interest in this role is rooted in a deep commitment to advancing healthcare simulation not only as an educational modality, but as a strategic driver of patient safety, workforce development, and system improvement.
Over the past 15 years, I have had the privilege of serving in a variety of roles across the simulation landscape, including biomedical engineering, simulation technology, operations leadership, and executive management. I have led simulation initiatives at the local, regional, and national levels, including overseeing large-scale simulation operations, designing and building simulation centers, and developing sustainable operational and business models. My experience as a Lead Accreditation Site Reviewer, member of the Accreditation Council, and contributor to SSH committees has provided me with a comprehensive understanding of the standards, challenges, and opportunities that define our field.
What I bring to this role is a unique combination of operational expertise, systems thinking, and strategic perspective. I have spent my career at the intersection of clinical education, technology, and business operations, working to ensure that simulation programs are not only effective, but scalable, sustainable, and aligned with organizational priorities. I am particularly passionate about advancing the role of simulation operations professionals, strengthening interdisciplinary teams, and expanding access to simulation in rural and underserved communities.
Looking ahead, my vision for SSH over the next three years centers on three key priorities. First, strengthening the integration of simulation into healthcare systems by demonstrating measurable impact on patient safety, quality, and operational performance. Second, advancing workforce development by supporting clear pathways, recognition, and growth for all roles within simulation, especially simulation operations specialists. Third, expanding access and innovation by supporting scalable models of simulation that reach beyond traditional academic centers, including rural and community-based environments.
SSH has long been the global leader in healthcare simulation. As our field continues to evolve, we have an opportunity to further position simulation as an essential component of healthcare delivery and improvement. I am committed to supporting that evolution by bringing a practical, forward-thinking, and inclusive perspective to the Board.
