Commission for International Simulation Accreditation (CISA)

SSH Accreditation has recently launched the Commission for International Simulation Accreditation (CISA).

The intent behind CISA is to serve as the accrediting body for affiliate organizations that want to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with SSH Accreditation to be recognized as an International Accrediting Organization (IAO) within the field of healthcare simulation.

The purpose of CISA is accredit affiliate organizations to become International Accrediting Organizations (IAOs). This agreement includes the logistics, training, and development of the IAO to ensure alignment with the SSH Accreditation standards. Once approved through CISA, the IAO could begin receiving applications from interested Simulation Programs in their region.

SSH would recognize programs accredited through an IAO as an SSH Accredited Program.

Process to begin becoming an IAO

1. Begin by contacting accreditation@ssih.org to express interest. A meeting with SSH Accreditation Leadership and Leadership of the Affiliate Organization will be scheduled, promptly.

2. Review the CISA Standards to ensure your organization will comply with the Standards.
