Multi-Site/Consortium Applicants

If your program spans multiple locations or involves a partnership between organizations, you may be wondering how—or if—you can pursue SSH Accreditation. You're not alone. This section is designed to clarify the most common questions we receive about Multi-Site and Consortium eligibility, structure, and application requirements.

Understanding how SSH defines these models is the first step toward determining your program’s eligibility. Below, we break down the key characteristics of each model and provide guidance to help you move forward with confidence.

Multi-Site or Consortium Definitions and Requirements

Often, programs who fall under a Multi-Site or Consortium Model wonder if they can apply for SSH Accreditation.  The answer is, yes, if your program meets the requirements as defined below and noted on the flowchart. (PDF)

What is a Multi-Site Program?

A Multi-Site Program operates across multiple physical locations under a unified structure. To qualify, your program must have:

  • One mission and vision
  • A single strategic plan
  • A centralized governance structure
  • One set of policies and procedures
  • A common funding source

What is a Consortium?

A Consortium consists of multiple organizations collaboratively delivering a simulation program across individual sites. To qualify as a Consortium, your program must have:

  • A unified governance structure (e.g., a shared committee with representatives from each organization)
  • A single set of policies and procedures governing the entire program

Multi-Site or Consortium Costs

SSH Accreditation welcomes applications from eligible Multi-Site and Consortium programs. These applications are more complex and require additional time and coordination for review.

To address this, the SSH Accreditation Council has developed a standardized process to streamline planning and logistics:
