Developing your organization’s application for accreditation can be a daunting task. By enrolling in one of SSH's Accreditation Online Courses, you will be equipped to develop a plan to address your organization’s areas of strengths and weaknesses.
Experienced SSH accreditation site reviewers lead each course and weekly group conference calls. And, through interactive course learning activities, you will receive constructive feedback from other healthcare simulation educators regarding your organization’s processes, policies, and much more.
Of course, taking SSH Accreditation Online Courses does not guarantee your organization will obtain accreditation. Course instructors are not permitted to provide feedback on your organization’s application. The Accreditation Review Board has the final power to accredit each organization.
Join us and:
- Learn the components of the accreditation process. This interactive course will help you understand the requirements for accreditation, the application process, and available resources.
- Identify your program’s strengths and weaknesses. Each course will breakdown the corresponding standards and criteria with examples of past successful accredited programs.
- Examine where most programs struggle to achieve accreditation. Each module contains active course activities to assist programs in the most challenging parts of the application process.
There are five areas for accreditation. All must apply for Core, the remaining areas are optional (you must apply for at least one of Assessment, Research, or Teaching/Education).
Accreditation Statement
In support of improving patient care, the Society for Simulation in Healthcare is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
This activity was planned by and for the healthcare team, and learners will receive a maximum of 7.0 Interprofessional Continuing Education (IPCE) credits for learning and change.
Interprofessional Continuing Education (ICPE) Mission
The Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH) will deliver professional development opportunities for interprofessional healthcare teams working to improve the practice of healthcare through simulation-based education. This mission will be accomplished through the provision of interprofessional continuing education (IPCE) activities designed to improve both individual and team performance in simulation.
