STATEMENT OF INTEREST
My interest in the Academy Board of Governance stems from my time on the Society’s Finance and Audit Committee and the Board of Directors. I was a member of F&A when the Academy was proposed and approved. I feel the Academy is serving the intended purpose of recognizing those who have had a high impact on the field and have contributed to advancing the Society. I feel process improvements have been and can continue to be made in annually selecting those individuals. Many, if not most, of us have experience with scoring and interrater reliability from our work, and I believe the BoG can continue to deploy those principles to ensure the Academy selects the best candidates. Both the candidate review process and the overall BoG process can and should be transparent and above reproach.
