SSH’s historic “Dollar-for-Dollar” fundraising campaign aims to raise $300,000 by September 18.
HARRISON, (OHIO) – Elevate Healthcare has donated $15,000 to the SSH Fund as part of the company’s challenge to the SSH Corporate Roundtable, the largest single gift so far during the Society for Simulation in Healthcare’s “Dollar-for-Dollar” campaign.

SSH launched its "Dollar-for-Dollar" initiative on August 25 -- a $300,000 fundraising campaign to strengthen, advance and expand health care simulation through research, innovation and education.
“This is an historic campaign for SSH, and I know each SSH member can help to meet the goal,” said SSH Development Board Chair Jennifer Arnold, MD, MSc, who serves as executive director for Immersive Design Systems and medical director of the skeletal health center at Boston Children’s Hospital. “Our financial contributions will serve the industry at its highest, encouraging break through research, increasing access to education and training resources, advancing patient safety and broader adaptation for simulation in all areas of healthcare.”
The campaign kicked off August 25 and runs through September 18, the last day of Healthcare Simulation Week (Sept. 14-18). The campaign includes two funding streams; corporate round table and individual donations. The SSH Corporate Roundtable, which includes 40 industry-leading businesses, has a goal of raising $120,000. The goal for individual donations is $30,000.
SSH will match every donation dollar-to-dollar up to $150,000.
“Never before has the SSH Board of Directors supported a $150,000 match for a fundraising campaign. They did so because they believe in funding those areas they know fuel the industry,” said Arnold.
Those areas include research, innovation and scholarships. Since 2014, SSH has awarded more than $170,000 to 30 researchers to help answer rapidly emerging questions in the field of healthcare simulation. The SimVentors Showcase at IMSH, which had 67 entries in 2026, provides healthcare simulation innovators a spotlight for showcasing emerging technology. Winners receive monetary awards that serve as a vital catalyst in transforming ideas from demonstrations into marketable products, benefiting the entire healthcare simulation community. Since 2011, 34 individuals have received the Beverlee Anderson Education Scholarship to attend IMSH.
“At SSH our mission is to enhance the quality of health care through simulation, giving healthcare technicians, nurses, and doctors the highest level of training in real life scenarios so they are the best prepared when patients need them the most,” said SSH Board President Aaron Calhoun, MD, FSSH, FAAP. “It’s through the research, innovation and education that is funded through the SSH fund where we know simulation continues to get better, stronger.”
