The Society for Simulation in Healthcare congratulates SSH President Jared Kutzin, DNP, MS, MPH, RN, CHSOS, FSSH, FAAN, on being named to Becker’s Hospital Review’s 2025 list of “Great Leaders in Healthcare.”

This prestigious recognition highlights Dr. Kutzin’s exceptional leadership, vision, and contributions to the advancement of healthcare through simulation, education, and inclusive practice. As Senior Director of the Simulation, Teaching and Research Center at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City, Dr. Kutzin oversees the development of innovative educational strategies that shape the future of patient care and safety.
In his role as SSH President, Dr. Kutzin helps lead a global organization committed to its vision to serve a global community of practice enhancing the quality of healthcare. Under his leadership, SSH continues its mission to serve its members by fostering education, professional development, and the advancement of research and innovation; promote the profession of healthcare simulation through standards and ethics; and champion healthcare simulation through advocating, sharing, facilitating, and collaborating.
Dr. Kutzin’s influence extends beyond simulation.
He chairs the New York State Emergency Medical Services DEI Technical Advisory Group and serves on the New York State Board of Nursing, where he helps shape inclusive, evidence-based policy and educational practices. He is also a contributing editorial voice for the Journal of Emergency Nursing and is a respected speaker at national forums, including the Institute for Healthcare Improvement and the Patient Safety Congress.
Previously named SSH’s “Educator of the Year” in 2022, Dr. Kutzin is widely recognized as a transformative leader dedicated to fostering learning, collaboration, and quality improvement in healthcare.
