New SSIH.org Common Questions - and Answers!

We’ve listened to your feedback and compiled the most frequently asked questions we’ve received since the new SSH experience launch to help you better navigate the new landscape. Whether you're looking for login help, certification renewal details, or how to access education resources, the answers are just below.

GENERAL

Q1: How do I log into the new SSH website?
A: Go to ssih.org/join-login-renew. If you’re new to SSH, click “Create Account” to get started. If you had an account on the old SSH website, your email is now your username. Click “Login” and follow the prompts to reset your password the first time you log in.

Q2: I tried to reset my password, and it didn’t work. What’s my next step?
A: If your password reset email doesn’t arrive immediately, please allow up to 20 minutes. If you still haven’t received anything after that time, check your spam/junk folder. If issues persist, contact communications@ssih.org.

Q3: I can’t find what I’m looking for on the new website. Where should I start?
A: Start with exploring the site through the main navigation menu at the top of the page. If you still need help after searching, reach out to communications@ssih.org. We'll be glad to help or connect you with the staff person who can!



CERTIFICATION

Q1: Where can I check my application status, enter CEUs, or pay for my renewal?
A: Visit the Candidate Management System. Use these direct links for guidance:

Q2: My Certification is not appearing on my SSH profile. What should I do?
A: Please email the Director of Certification at director@simcertification.com for assistance.

Q3: My Certification expired and I want to renew. What are my options?
A: You have a 30-day grace period after your certification expires. Additional extensions may be granted on a case-by-case basis. Email director@simcertification.com to discuss your situation.

Q4: How do I prepare for a certification exam like CHSE or CHSOS?
A: SSH provides study resources, online prep courses, and practice exams. Visit the Certification section (top menu bar, then under Credentialing) to explore available tools.



ACCREDITATION

Q1: What types of Accreditation does SSH offer?
A: SSH offers Full and Provisional Accreditation across four areas: Teaching/Education, Assessment, Research, and Systems Integration. Learn more under the Accreditation section (top menu bar, then under under Credentialing).

Q2: What are the differences between Full and Provisional Accreditation?
A: Full Accreditation is granted to mature programs meeting all criteria. Provisional Accreditation is for newer programs making progress toward full compliance.

Q3: Where should I begin if I’m considering applying for SSH Accreditation?
A: Start with learning about Accreditation Standards here. at the Accreditation Overview page. It outlines the application process, eligibility, and available resources.

Q4: What is the cost of applying for Accreditation?
A: Fees vary based on the type and number of tracks. Visit the Accreditation section or contact accreditation@ssih.org for a current fee schedule.

Q5: Can a program with multiple sites apply for SSH Accreditation?
A: Yes. Programs with multiple sites or are part of a consortium can apply under specific criteria.



EDUCATION

Q1: I registered for a webinar. How do I access the recording?
A: Most SSH webinars are conducted, recorded, and available through the Live Learning Center within a few business days. Log in with your SSH account to access. (Follow steps to create an account if you haven't before.)

Q2: How do I claim CEUs from an education event or webinar I attended?
A: Log into your Candidate Management System profile. CEU instructions are provided with each course or event listing.



DEVELOPMENT (SSH FUND)

Q1: What is the SSH Fund, and how does it support simulation?
A: The SSH Fund provides support for scholarships, research, innovation grants, and global outreach efforts to advance healthcare simulation.

Q2: How can I make a donation or set up a recurring gift?
A: Visit www.sshfund.org to make a one-time donation or schedule a recurring contribution.



MEMBERSHIP

Q1: I’m part of an organization that pays for my membership. How do I know if I’m covered?
A: If your organization uses SSH’s Bulk Membership program, you’ll see it listed in your account profile. You will not create invoices for membership or renewal; your organization handles that.

Q2: What benefits do I get with SSH membership?
A: SSH members receive a LOT of benefits including: discounts on conference registrations, access to the Simulation in Healthcare Journal, certification opportunities, online learning, and networking through SimConnect and interest groups. Your potential savings as a member are nearly $800!



MEETINGS & EVENTS

Q1: How do I register for IMSH or find information about upcoming events?
A: All conference and event information, including registration, is listed under the Event Calendar. You can also check out our larger event pages under the Education tab, then under Events.

Q2: I’m interested in sponsoring or exhibiting at an SSH event. Who do I contact?
