I am thrilled to share some exciting news with you! After months of hard work and dedication, we are proud to officially launch the new Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH) website and member portal!
It’s been so amazing to see the excitement around #HCSimWeek23! It is truly an honor to be able to be able to work in an industry with such dedicated professionals who work tirelessly to advance the field of healthcare simulation. We have such a strong community that has been built by our nearly 5000 SSH Members throughout the globe.
There’s no better time than today to consider joining SSH if you are not already.
We’ve been busy over the past few weeks performing a review of every item in both the CHSE and CHSOS item banks. We perform this item bank review every five years to ensure the test questions that can appear on an exam form are relevant to the current knowledge and skills required of healthcare simulation professionals.
Recently, I attended the American Society of Association Executives Annual Meeting in Atlanta, Georgia, as an ASAE member.
It was my version of IMSH! There, a lot of conversation took place both in sessions and in the hallways about AI tools (such as Chat GPT and Google Bard) and how associations can and should approach the onslaught of new tools.
It got me to thinking, of course, about how SSH members and their institutions might or might not be implementing AI usage. It also got me to thinking about ethical use of such tools.
We have so many exciting opportunities available to volunteer and serve your community of global community of healthcare simulationists!
Many of our Sections, SIGs and Affinity Groups have open positions for leadership roles of these groups! These groups are member led, and focused on specific areas within simulation. In order to be eligible for one of these roles, you must be both a member of the group and a member of SSH. The groups with open positions include:
Nearly everyone I’ve talked with recently has commented on how fast this year is moving.
Stores are full of back-to-school sales, parents are getting ready to drop their newly minted ‘adult’ college bound offspring (along with some tears, I’m sure), and gardeners are harvesting their bounty and planning for next summer’s planting.
And, at SSH, we are celebrating the completion of a successful SimOps2023 with great attendance numbers and exhibit hall experience. Eighteen companies provided hands on experience to SimOps professionals.
