THE PULSE - Best Practices Workshops: Going Deeper Than a Webinar

Some learning doesn't fit in an hour. The material requires more — time to work through application, push back on assumptions, and test ideas with people who are grappling with the same questions you are.

The Standards, Core Competencies, and Best Practices in Healthcare Simulation workshop series is built for that, and the program recently changed in ways that make it even stronger than before.

The workshop series is a collaboration between SSH, ASPE, and INACSL. That means the content covers the full landscape of simulation standards in one cohort: SSH Accreditation Standards SSH Certification requirements, INACSL Healthcare Simulation Standards of Best Practice, and ASPE Standards for Standardized Patient Methodology. You're not getting one organization's perspective. You're getting the field's.

The format is a combination of prerecorded 45-minute sessions from simulation experts and live 60-minute discussions with presenters and peers. The recorded sessions deliver content on your schedule. The live sessions are where the real work happens — applying what you've learned, asking questions that matter to your specific program, and hearing how others in the cohort are navigating the same standards.

Cohorts are capped at 100 participants, which keeps the discussions functional. If you've attended a virtual session where the chat runs faster than anyone can track and the Q&A is mostly skipped, this is different by design.

For professionals pursuing SSH accreditation, the workshop is direct preparation — in understanding how the standards work in practice, not just what they say. That distinction matters when you're building documentation or making the case internally for what accreditation requires.

Continuing education credit is available through SSH's joint accreditation with ACCME, ACPE, and ANCC. Registration is open now for the August and September 2026 cohorts. Full registration and schedule are at ssih.org/best-practice-workshops.

We'll see you at a workshop soon!
