THE PULSE - Building a Learning Habit One Hour at a Time

Professional development in healthcare simulation does not happen in a single event.

It happens over time, in accumulated exposures to new ideas, new evidence, and new perspectives from colleagues across the field. SSH's SimSeries Webinar program is designed for exactly that purpose: an hour, on a regular schedule, that keeps you in active learning mode throughout the year.

SimSeries webinars are live, one-hour sessions delivered by subject matter experts across the full spectrum of healthcare simulation. Topics range from scenario design and debriefing methodology to simulation operations, program management, faculty development, and emerging technologies. The program runs throughout the year, offering consistent touchpoints for continuous learning without requiring travel or large time commitments. SimSeries is accessible at no cost to SSH members — and for many sessions, accessible to non-members as well.

If you are a program director managing a team, SimSeries offers an easy way to build a shared professional development culture. Assigning a monthly session as a team watch — followed by a short discussion of how it applies to your context — costs almost nothing in time or resources and produces meaningful, applied learning.

For organizations interested in taking that further: SSH offers a Joint IPCE program through which your organization can co-sponsor a webinar or simulation conference and offer IPCE credit to participants. If your institution is looking for a way to extend its educational reach with the backing of SSH's credibility and infrastructure, this is worth exploring. Learn more at ssih.org/joint-ipce-program.

The SimSeries catalog has grown substantially over the years. If you have never spent time in the archive, search by topic. The depth of content that has accumulated there is one of SSH's most underappreciated educational assets.
