Hello, friends!

IMSH is on track for another incredible year in 2026! Registrations are pacing right alongside last year’s record-breaker, and the Expo is nearly sold out with exhibitors from around the globe showcasing the latest equipment, technology, and teaching innovations.
January 10-14, several thousand simulation professionals will gather in San Antonio, ready to learn, share, reconnect with friends, and make new colleagues. We can’t wait to welcome you to one of the most distinctive and inviting cities in the country, a modern destination with a proud Western spirit and rich, storied history.
Why You’ll Love Visiting San Antonio
As the Lone Star State’s second-largest city, San Antonio offers the perfect blend of big-city amenities and small-town warmth. It’s a city that doesn’t try too hard—it’s comfortable in its own skin, rich in culture, history, and personality.
You’ll find a thriving food scene featuring Tex-Mex favorites, Hill Country specialties, and creative takes on classic comfort dishes. Add in lively nightlife, art, music, and cultural festivals throughout the year, and it’s easy to see why San Antonio appeals to just about everyone.
And it’s walkable - one of the most enjoyable cities to explore on foot! Two of its most famous landmarks are must-visits: the River Walk and The Alamo.
The River Walk
It’s hard to visit San Antonio without finding yourself along the River Walk at some point—and why would you want to? Stretching more than 15 miles, this scenic network winds through downtown, connecting shops, restaurants, hotels, museums, and historic sites.
Hop on a narrated river cruise for a relaxing 35-minute tour and learn more about the city’s history from knowledgeable local guides. Day or night, it’s a wonderful experience—but the evening cruises, with the riverbanks lit and music drifting through the air, are truly special. Invite a few colleagues or new friends and take in the sights, sounds, and flavors of San Antonio together.
The Alamo
You can’t say you’ve been to San Antonio without visiting The Alamo. Located right downtown on Alamo Plaza, this historic landmark tells the story of Texas independence through interactive tours, exhibits, and live reenactments.
Founded in 1718 as San Antonio’s first mission, The Alamo became a symbol of courage and liberty during the 1836 battle for Texas independence. Today, visitors can explore its 4.2-acre complex and gardens before heading back to the River Walk for dining, shopping, and entertainment nearby.
Don’t Miss IMSH Industry Night
Networking is always one of the top reasons attendees value IMSH. Be sure to join us Sunday evening, January 11, for IMSH Industry Night. It is an opportunity for our corporate partners to host gatherings, alumni reunions, and social events where friendships and collaborations are renewed.
Esperamos darle la bienvenida a San Antonio en Enero. (We look forward to welcoming you to San Antonio in January!)
Sincerely,
Judy Larson,
