As we head into the second half of 2025, I’m filled with gratitude and excitement for the momentum building across the SSH community.
Whether you’re new to SSH or a longtime member, your passion for advancing healthcare simulation is powering real change. It’s exciting, and we’re seeing that impact unfold in powerful ways. Here are four key highlights you should know about:
A Membership Milestone Worth Celebrating
With just over 5,500 in early May, SSH hit a new all-time high in membership — an incredible achievement that reflects the time, talent, and heart poured in by our staff, our committees, and most importantly, by you. Backed by the strategic vision of the SSH Board of Directors, this growth has strengthened our ability to deliver meaningful resources, connection, and support to healthcare simulation professionals around the world.
The energy in our community is electric — and it’s only growing stronger.
Amplifying Our Advocacy Together
That growth also means SSH continues to solidify and leverage a stronger voice. In July, members of the SSH Advocacy Committee will represent our Society and the healthcare simulation field in Washington, D.C., meeting with congressional staffers and federal healthcare leaders to share our stories and elevate the role of simulation in improving care and safety.
You don’t have to be on Capitol Hill to be an advocate. One powerful way to support your program — and the entire industry — is by participating in Healthcare Simulation Week, September 15–19.

This year’s theme — “United through Simulation” — celebrates how global collaboration fuels local innovation. We're also looking forward to SimOps 2025, happening July 16–18 in Peoria, Illinois at the Jump Trading Simulation & Education Center.
