SSH Unveils ASCEND Program, SSH Discovery Award
The Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH) is proud to announce the launch of two innovative initiatives: the ASCEND Program and the SSH Discovery Award.

(Dec. 3, 2024) – The Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH) is honored to announce the newest cohort of SSH Fellows, a distinction recognizing individuals who have made significant and sustained contributions to healthcare simulation.
This year’s inductees represent a wide range of expertise and dedication, underscoring the global impact of simulation in healthcare education, research, and practice. The 2025 SSH Fellows are:
(DEC. 3, 2024) – The Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH) proudly announces the first cohort of the Advancing Simulation Careers & Empowering Next-Generation Development (ASCEND) program. This prestigious initiative recognizes emerging leaders in healthcare simulation who demonstrate exceptional leadership potential, innovation, and commitment to advancing the field.
The 2024 ASCEND cohort includes 20 individuals selected from a competitive global applicant pool:
Jared Kutzin will serve a one-year term as President until January 2026. Aaron Calhoun will assume the presidency in January 2026.
HARRISON, OHIO (Feb. 26, 2025) – The Society for Simulation in Healthcare is pleased to announce the appointment of Nicole Harder, RN, PhD, CHSE, CCSNE, as Editor-in-Chief of Simulation in Healthcare, effective February 15, 2025.
This recognition underscores SSH’s pivotal role in elevating simulation-based education and training, ensuring excellence in healthcare simulation worldwide.
